Worth the climb

Welcome to my personal blog, a place to write & share.

Here I will share some of my personal stories, experiences & life lessons that I hope might offer support to others. By sharing these stories, I hope readers might feel less alone when the going gets tough.

My personal blog is called “Worth the climb” because my life has felt like climbing an endless mountain.

Here I hope to share, what I have learnt about navigating life’s challenges, while learning how to become better equipped to cope with life’s emotional mountains.

From leaving an abusive family behind in NZ, becoming an award-winning chef (workaholic), falling in love with Scotland (& a Scotsman-Al), Al’s incurable cancer journey, to my own personal mental health journey, I feel I have quite a story to tell.

I will bear a bit more than just recipes or a passion for cooking great food here. Some of it will be quite raw & hard to read, but I can guarantee there will be some humour, swear words & important life lessons along the way.
